REVIEW
Pig stars Nicolas Cage as a truffle farmer Rob Feld who was a chef who has become a recluse and has a partnership and friendship with a pig to uncover truffles. Rob sells the truffles he uncovers to Amir, a supplier of luxury ingredients to high-end restaurants. One night Rob’s Pig is kidnapped (or perhaps pig napped) and Rob reaches out to Amir and the two go on a journey to uncover the circumstances behind the kidnapping. The film is very quiet, slow-burning and generally all-around unusual. Nick Cage has a previous film where he demands the bunny be put back in the box, here he questions everyone he meets about the whereabouts of his pig, like a man on the edge of sanity. And because it’s Nick Cage, this seems routine and normal.
