A Man Called Ove

A Man Called Ove on Amazon Prime is a Swedish film based on a book and a Hollywood remake is in the works starring Tom Hanks. Ove is a grumpy old man who has given up on life after the passing of his wife and clings to life’s little rules and regulations. As Ove is tired of life, he tries to join his wife but learns to reflect on the valve of life thanks to a look back at happier times in his youth and friendships with new neighbours. Ove as a character is enjoyable to watch in his grumpy old man form, but also there are touching moments from his happier times in his youth. This is a surprisingly good film, and part of what makes it so engaging is that the everyday events in the film are made very watchable.
