REVIEW
Ambulance is a 2022 film by director Michael Bay. It’s a remake based on the 2005 Danish film of the same name by Laurits Munch-Petersen and Lars Andreas Pedersen.
The film follows sensible War veteran Will Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), and his cool but hyperactive adoptive brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal), on an attempted bank robbery that typically goes wrong.
The audience is treated to a lengthy Ambulance car chase with the police following Will and Danny who take Cam (Eiza González) along for the ride.
This leads to an orgy of gunshots, cheesy lunatic banter, and countless explosions for good measure.
It’s safe to say this is a film that simply seeks to entertain with its cheesy repartee and predictable catch the robbers cliché.
This is a movie that’s great for a night out after work with friends, or if you wanted something to distract from daily life.
If you’re looking for something with a bit more substance, it's best to avoid it.
If you need some escapism that’s a mix of
Speed, Fast & the Furious and a bit of ER (TV Series) for good measure, check out Michael Bay’s Action Thriller, Ambulance.
