Blue Bayou

Blue Bayou is a 2021 film starring and directed by Justin Chon as Antonio Leblanc a Korean American adoptee whom is making a life for himself in New Orleans but his criminal record and Adopted past both come back to haunt his family present. The movie is realistic and moving and the viewer will get invested in the struggle of Antonio and his efforts to keep his family unit together in the face of deportation. It’s a human drama that really has impact and is presented in a documentary like manner and really shows how uncertain and difficult a situation can become surrounding deportation issues. A hidden gem well worth the viewers time.
