BURNING RUBBER

A hidden gem on Amazon Prime, the film Burning Rubber (also known as Trading Paint) stars John Travolta as a racing driver whose relationship with his son is tested and grows over the sport. Shania Twain is the love interest. John Travolta is very watchable in this film and in my opinion, he should do more of these roles. The over the top characters he sometimes plays don’t suit him, but he’s likeable as the father figure in this film. Compared to the flashiness of something like Days Of Thunder, which is Top Gun on wheels, Burning Rubber is grounded and believable and it suits the storytelling of the film. This is a movie that deserves a bit more recognition. Check it out.
