In Creed III," A now retired but successful boxer Adonis Creed is challenged by his old childhood friend Damian, who has just been released from prison and resentful of Creed's escape from his former life ,challenges Creed to to get back into the ring and fight.
Creed. Actor Michael B. Jordan again, who has played Creed in previous films, steps into the ring and makes his directorial debut. Quite a challenge when under the long shadow of the great sporting movies in the 'Rocky' franchise. Those entries work best when it works as both a boxing spectacle and a character-driven drama. And here is delivers , proving as a director he understands that successful formula perfectly. Maybe Stallone himself is not present in this entry, but conversely it does allow the film to breathe on its own terms.
Of course a these boxing movies are s only as good at the opposing villain . Majors (seen also recently delivering another villainous performance in Marvel's Ant-man 3) , delivers a captivating performance as a complicated intimidating villain , with a contrast between his character's background and that of the protagonist adds weight to their scenes, where you both love and hate him , as his story unfolds. Both actors in fact delivering standout performances. In short a great addition to the Rocky legacy franchise.
