Amazon Prime's Fallout starts with a bang... Literally! Set in a 1950s style America during the cold war, following ex-TV celebrity Cooper Howard (played by Walton Goggins) who now entertainins at children parties due to being labelled a communist. Suddenly, a nuclear explosion occurs, signalling the beginning of the apocalypse. Wealthy individuals take shelter in secure vaults, such as Vault 33, which have thrived after 200 years. Traditional values like politeness and kindness have been preserved, but with some changes like regular weapon training and avoidingof course inbreeding. This peaceful underground community is however attacked by surface dwellers, led by a woman named Moldaver. The Vault Overseer, Hank MacLean, is kidnapped, and his daughter Lucy goes against orders to find him. And so begins Lucy's quest in this dangerous Wasteland. Major threats include cockroaches, sea monsters, radiation, hostile survivors and mutants. The Brotherhood of Steel is a faction trying to control and bring order to the Wasteland.With the squire ' Maximus' as a character who rises through the ranks to become a rogue 'Knight' and complete a mission to obtain a valuable severed head. Also in the mix; Cooper Howard now a mutant survivor 'Goul' come bounty hunter, is also on the hunt for the head and its associated rewards. The mystery at Vault 32 and Lucy's descent into darkness add tension. This story features Easter eggs, humor, and self-awareness, with such a great mix of horror,and satire ,married with touching characters and great performances all round. All elements are seamlessly integrated over the eight-episode arc.
