REVIEW
Interceptor is a 2022 Netflix film starring Elsa Pataky as a soldier who defends a nuclear weapons base in the ocean that’s basically Olympus Has Fallen on water. The film unfortunately suffers from being very cliched - outcast solider saves the day against impossible odds, and like Under Siege and Olympus Has Fallen it relies on the audience to be in the mood for action rather than better dialogue or character development which would help these genre of movies much more. The viewer may find themselves laughing at the by the numbers action and one dimensional approach to the characters and plot, but it’s enthusiastic and it’s good to see Interceptor try and approach the action genre from a different angle with a female lead, what could make this film much more likeable would be for the audience to develop a rapport with the characters and learn more about them, rather than just the throwing them into situations of gunfights or explosions for on screen entertainment.
