REVIEW
Perhaps the strongest hook for this latest, maybe last entry of the Jurassic Park franchise is nostalgia, with at least two generations of audience having grown up with this IP. Surely a good in built audience to draw an attendance from? Also a franchise, that doesn't need too much dialogue to sell well in cross territories right? It should be easy enough to score a non-brainer blockbuster. Dinosaurs escape. Humans Run. Easy right.? Wrong. First ..Good to see the original cast for a last hurrah, but when not given much to do but run from dinosaurs seems a bit of a waste. Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill from the original movie..return.. and are always a pleasure on screen with all the chemistry in fact when interacting. But they are quickly pushed to the background on an industrial espionage caper plot ,as we catch up with a the second set of leads..Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard who seem to be on another movie entire geared as a generic action , where dinosaurs play second fiddle to the new global threat of genetically engineered locusts? A case of industrial sabotage gone wrong. An interesting concept maybe, but perhaps best left for another movie. When dinosaurs finally do make it to the central stage , it feels like they have come to the party to late,in their own movie! It does make you feel that maybe this should have been a franchise-best left buried.
