A mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with our planet! With mere weeks before impact, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Academy Award® winner Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all. But she will have to recruit a disgraced ex fellow Astronaut Hero, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley) "Game of Thrones") to work together to launch an impossible last-ditch mission into space and the Moon! If this sounds like the worst parts of every Sci-fi disaster over the last 30 years all put into one movie. Then it is. This would work well if this was a pure goofball comedy satire of a movie. But it isn't (we think). But if it is, no one seems to have told (Oscar Winner) Halle Berry or Patrick Wilson this, as they play this all deadly straight! One could imagine, that they were under the impression that this was the next 'The Arrival' and that it would all come out great in the editing room. It is quite the barmy tale. Which ropes in all the best and worst conspiracy theories into one strand. From Hollow Moon, Space Aliens, Intergalactic War and government cover-ups and rogue AI's. What makes it even stranger is that both leads share scenarios with John Bradley who seems in a different movie altogether, as the theorist marvelling as all his conspiracy theories come to light, with tongue firmly in cheek, akin to some tone worthy of 'The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy!Couple this with scenes of the global crisis unfolding on poor Planet Earth, which plays out like the greatest hits album of every disaster movie cliches you have ever seen. It packs everything in. And maybe best enjoyed, if you just let it just wash over you, on the level of pure lunacy!
