SOLITARY MAN (2010)

Solitary Man on Amazon Prime stars Michael Douglas who plays Ben, a car dealership owner who is a father and grandfather and is trying to keep his youth alive bedding younger women and cheating death. Where Wallstreet(1987) was a story about the love of money, this is a story of love and a lack of money, and thinking with pleasure over business. Films like Cocktail(1988) and Shame have explored the darker side of success and a toxic male attitude, Solitary Man does it with a sense of grounded subtlety. Eventuality Ben learns some of what is important to him.
