Stillwater

Stillwater is a 2021 starring Matt Damon as Bill a construction worker who travels to France from the US to visit his imprisoned daughter, only to begin a life with Virgine and Maya. There’s a lot of slow story building with character development, and there are parts of the fish out of water aspect of the situation that Bill finds himself in that’s part of the charm, and yet Bill makes a life for himself in unfamiliar surroundings. A film that tells a story based on true events with likeable characters and surroundings, people from different walks of life who learn from each other and come together is the message and heart of this film and how precious that can be when it goes.
