REVIEW
Season 3 of the French sitcom series The Hook Up Plan came to Netflix in 2022 and continues the story of young Parisian Elsa and her friends which worked so well in Seasons 1 and 2.
Unfortunately where the premise of Season 1 worked with Elsa meeting the man of her dreams only for him to not be quite what he seems, and Season 2 an evolution of the story and her relationship with her friends, Season 3 doesn’t quite hold the viewer's interest in the same way.
The characters are a bit tedious in this series, and their relationships seem a bit strained, whereas in previous seasons they felt more natural.
Elsa and Julio are trying to start a new family life, Charlotte and Max are taking new career directions and Emilie and Antoine are extending their family life.
Episode 2 “The War Plan” feels like it may give the viewer some of the watchable tension between the main characters but it doesn’t fully land.
Episode 4 gives us a heartfelt moment into Charlotte’s situation but it’s something overall this season could have done with more of, the characters are fleshly out oddly compared to Season 1 and 2 which are better overall
