This season indeed hits the ground running picking up right after..the last season .. Or rather Boba Fett season one. ( where is seems the show creators had Mandalorian stop off and save Boba from his own show). We head into a spectacular opening and join Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal-on parenting duties again, as seen currently in 'The Last of Us' ) and Grogu as they embark on a quest to atone and regain his stripped mantle of Mandalorian. Only possible by returning to the caves of Mandalorian ,( long thought destroyed). Despite this, Din returns to Nevarro to meet with Greef (Carl Weathers) to rebuild IG-11 ( the A.I bounty hunter from season one) to aid in his return to Mandalore possibly.With some encounters with a a variety of droids and species on his journey,the episode takes time to add World depth as well as an excuse to serve nods to previous Star Wars ,all It seems both for plot and sheer fun! This includes a great encountes with pirates and a fun asteroid field starship fight to boot. It's when Din finally gets to Mandalore, he meets with a despondant Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) sitting on a throne and empty kingdom.The tense and bitter discussions over what it means to lead the Mandalorians is one of the most fascinating aspects of the story, and it will be interesting to see how it continues to play out in future episodes.Director Rick Famuyiwa keeps the perfect pace and tempo, and weaves alot the upcoming season plot points in without slowing the episode down.The Mandalorian team again shows what a perfectly well oiled machine of a production it is here, that put other, Disney+ entries to shame(take notes Obi-Wan, and Boba-Fett).Again 'Mando'showrunners show (to paraphrase our hero)'This is the way!'
