Jason Statham and the oceanic environmental gang return in a sequel to the fun B Movie of 2018 the Meg. Director Ben Wheatley this time takes the reigns utilizing his expertise in pulpsploitation films, the follow-up to the oceanic monster film.The Meg 2 audaciously appropriates elements from different films (Jaws meets Jurassic Park?) and introduces a myriad of additional ocean monsters.The team this time uncover an illegal mining operation under the Oceanic trench, an accidental explosion lets loose now not just one Meg but now a whole herd of Megaldons who have their sights consuming everything in their path as they head to the surface including the nearby ‘Fun Island’ full of juicy tourists.. Its up to Jason to stop The film fully embraces the camp and cheese of the first movie and then some as . Among these additions are not just multiple Megalodons, but also a collective of ferocious aquatic creatures such as fish-lizard and even a tentacled monster squid that appears out of nowhere to beef up the third-act climax.It is a little too much maybe , but is it fun, and with a sequence of Stratham taking on three Megalodons with three harpoons on a jet ski is worth the admission ticket alone! Pure Summer B movie fun!
