Weekend projections: Barbie has a spectacular hold to earn $93 million on second weekend

Barbie will earn a spectacular $93 million in its second weekend in theaters, according to Warner Bros.’ weekend projection. If that number holds, it will be the 7th-biggest 2nd weekend for a movie in history, just a shade ahead of The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s $92.3 million. Oppenheimer is no slouch either. It should sit somewhere around 80th place on that chart when the final numbers are in, ahead of the likes of Spider-Man: Far From Home. With two juggernauts dominating theaters, Haunted Mansion is having a tough time, and counts as another miss for Disney.
