What’s on This Week: April 7-15th

This week, streaming platforms offered a plethora of captivating movies and shows that range from A-list romantic comedies to epic stories of road rage…

 What to watch on Netflix

Beef

Steven Yeun and Ali Wong star in A24’s latest comedic drama, where they engage in an extended road-rage conflict. Titled ‘Beef’, the series unfolds a tremendous rivalry at a hardware store parking lot between two characters, Danny (played by Yeun) and Amy (played by Wong), who both happen to cross paths at their lowest. As he strives to ensure financial security for his domestic and overseas household, his partner is overwhelmed with the burdens of her job, her in-laws, and her unattainable expectations. Although they narrowly avoid a collision, the close call provides them with ample justification to release control and allow pandemonium to govern their lives. Transatlantic

Transatlantic, a miniseries inspired by the setting of Casablanca, draws upon the era it depicts to reveal a dramatic story from the pages of history. The series recounts the real-life adventure of an unlikely group of people who unite to rescue numerous European intellectuals, activists, and artists from the brutal clutches of the Nazi forces during the Second World War.

Flux Gourmet

If The Menu was to your liking, then Flux Gourmet is guaranteed to leave you craving for more. With a mix of satire and horror, this trio of avant-garde artists specialize in catering to their audience’s auditory whims, by creating food-related ASMR with an added pinch of ostentation. Their chief sponsor challenges them to expand their artistic boundaries, and even brings in an amateur reporter to chronicle their wildest exploits.

Well putting you in the place of every parent’s fears, (namely having their daughter’s future in mind, and stopping her from jeopardizing her developing profession for a man she recently met),  they wish to impede her from repeating their blunders. Take your chance to embark on a journey to Paradise and relish the chemistry between the two stars.

What to watch on Peacock

Marry Me

Jennifer Lopez once again proves her rom-com prowess in the film Marry Me, portraying the role of popular singer Kat Valdez.
