Theater counts: Mission: Impossible on Cruise control heading into weekend, plus official expected theater counts for Barbie and Oppenheimer

In a rare mid-week opening, the top movie in the land is another blockbuster from legendary actor Tom Cruise. The latest Mission: Impossible feature, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One scored $15.52 million on Wednesday (inclusive of $7 million in Tuesday previews — $1 million more from previews than its predecessor, Mission: Impossible — Fallout). The Christopher McQuarrie directed movie will add 278 theaters starting Friday, making itself available in 4,327 locations which includes standard and IMAX screens.
